MUSIC

Having been involved in music from my earliest memories, I consider myself a musician as much as a clinician and scientist. My primary instrument is my voice. I enjoy singing in a variety of settings and styles, including classic choral ensembles, show choirs, jazz choirs, a cappella groups, early music ensembles, and musical theater productions. In college, I sang under the direction of Anton Armstrong in the St. Olaf Choir and took private voice lessons from Margaret Eaves-Smith, with a focus on developing my classical soprano voice. I have performed with numerous professional and semi-professional ensembles including: ElevarePortara Ensemble, Sonus, and Taylor Festival Choir.

I am currently a substitute staff singer at the Basilica of the National Shrine in Washington, DC. I am also available as a soprano soloist or to sing in ensemble settings. Please reach out to inquire about my availability, I look forward to hearing from you.

I also play viola, violin, and piano. I have several years of private instruction on each instrument along with training in chamber ensembles and symphonic orchestras.

SONUS performs Sainte-Chapelle, by Eric Whitacre

Listen to our newest album: https://sonuschoir.bandcamp.com/ SONUS is proud to announce the release of our second EP, "The Parthenon Sessions". Recorded in Nashville's beautiful full-scale replica of the Greek Parthenon, "The Parthenon Sessions" features works by modern composers Eric Whitacre, Ola Gjelio, and John Tavener. The lush, complex harmonies of these pieces blossom in the acoustics of the Parthenon, which boasts an ethereal two seconds of echo. The piece featured in this video, "Sainte-Chapelle" by Eric Whitacre, paints a picture of a young woman alone in a chapel, hearing the angels in the stained-glass singing "Holy, holy, holy", and echoing back her own whispers of worship. Recorded in Partnership with the Centennial Park Conservancy. Available for streaming and download on all digital platforms. ________________________________________________________ Song info: Sainte-Chapelle, by Eric Whitacre Conducted by Timbre Cierpke Recorded with permission and in partnership with the Centennial Park Conservancy. Video & editing by Griffin R Dunn Videography Audio & editing by Sarah Michelle Bailey Translation: An innocent girl Entered the chapel; And the angels in the glass Softly sang, “Hosanna in the highest!” The innocent girl Whispered, “Holy! Holy! Holy!” Light filled the chamber, Many-coloured light; She heard her voice Echo, “Holy! Holy! Holy!” Softly the angels sang, “Lord God of Hosts, Heaven and earth are full Of your glory! Hosannah in the highest! Hosannah in the highest!” Her voice becomes light, And the light sings, “Holy! Holy! Holy!” The light sings softly, “Lord God of Hosts, Heaven and earth are full Of your glory!”
